Connections Deacon of Parking

TVC Responsibilities:
I serve in the Connections Ministry to welcome everyone who comes through the doors, determine the most efficient parking logistics based on input provided by church staff, and coordinate parking volunteers each week.

When and how did the Lord save you?
I grew up in a small Texas town and had been baptized as a young kid. I always thought I was a Christian until late in life when I discovered that I had been an intellectual Christian all my life. In April 2024, I went to TVC’s Men’s Retreat at Pine Cove. Early Saturday morning, I went to grab coffee in the lounge room. I found David Campbell reading his Bible and joined him in what started out as lighthearted conversation. We ended up talking through breakfast and the group sessions, and he heard my struggles with passiveness and an overall dead, numb feeling inside. We walked through Scripture, and then he asked me if I'd been baptized by faith. That question stopped me dead in my tracks. I had to stop our conversation and just broke down in tears. I knew I'd let my pride stand in the way for years from truly surrendering to Jesus. After more conversation, David prayed with me, and I surrendered my life to Jesus and got baptized in the tub in room 4 of the Cedar Ridge cabin. I'm a living and breathing example of God's patience and love described in 2 Peter 3:9.

When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
We moved from Fort Worth to Flower Mound and wanted to find a closer church family. We had several churches on our list to visit, and TVC was the first. When Matt preached, he challenged us as Christians, and I knew right then that I’d found a new church home.

If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
Self-identity; too many young people identify themselves based on what sport they're playing or what job they have. This ultimately leads to emptiness, loneliness, and depression when that "one thing" is taken away from them or changes.

If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
Racecar driver

Favorite Hobby:
Hunting or fly fishing
